Toast Tickets
Overview
Following acclaimed runs at the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh and Salford's Lowry, Henry Filloux-Bennett’s adaptation of Nigel Slater’s award-winning autobiography Toast makes its West End debut at The Other Palace in April.
Directed by Jonnie Riordan, Toast charts a path through Slater's formative years, vividly recreating daily life in suburban England in the 1960 through the food, tastes and smells he grew up with. From making the perfect sherry trifle, recalling his mother’s surprisingly good rice pudding, his father’s bold foray into spaghetti, the dreaded Boxing Day stew and waging war over cakes, this is an incredibly moving and evocative coming of age tale of love and loss.
