The Railway Children Tickets
Overview
Mike Kenny's breathtaking adaptation of Edith Nesbit's beloved 1906 classic, The Railway Children, steams triumphantly back into London following record breaking runs at Waterloo Station, York National Railway Museum and the CN Tower in Toronto.
Staged in a new purpose-built 1,000 seat venue behind King's Cross Station complete with genuine platforms and railway track, the production also features a beautiful vintage 60 tonne steam locomotive and carriage originally built in 1896.
Set in the Edwardian era, The Railway Children is the timelessly enchanting story of the three Waterbury siblings, Bobbie, Peter and Phyllis who move from London to the rural Yorkshire countryside after their father is taken away in mysterious circumstances. The children seek solace at the local railway and station, visiting almost daily to wave at the passing trains and befriending the porter named Albert Perks. With laughter, tears and dramas along the way, including the famous red petticoat scene where the trio try to avert disaster, The Railway Children embark on a magical journey of discovery, friendship and adventure waiting for their father's return.
The production is in support of the Railway Children Charity that aims to help homeless and runaway children throughout the world, with £1 per ticket donated to the charity.
