The King's Speech Tickets
Overview
David Seidler's original play The King's Speech returns to the stage following the huge success of the award-winning film starring Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush. Directed by Adrian Noble, the outstanding cast includes Charles Edwards, Jonathan Hyde and Emma Fielding.
Bertie, Duke Of York, is thrust onto the world stage as King George VI of England after the death of his father King George V and the abdication of his elder brother King Edward VIII following his scandalous love affair with American socialite Wallis Simpson. In a time of national crisis, terrified Bertie, who has suffered from a debilitating speech impediment all his life, struggles to find his voice as King with the Nazi threat looming and the uneasy nation on the brink of war.
In a room at 146 Harley Street, his wife Elizabeth has arranged for him to meet the maverick Australian speech therapist Lionel Logue. Breaking all royal protocol, the King and his eccentric therapist embark on an unconventional journey to correct the King’s stammer and help him deliver the radio address that will inspire his people and unite the country in battle.
