Overview
Irish writer Marie Jones' much loved hit comedy, Stones in his Pockets, returns to the West End this autumn, less than two-and-a-half years after a highly successful four-year run.
Set in a remote village in County Kerry, this bitter-sweet tale follows just what happens when a Hollywood film crew comes to town to shoot a major historical movie on location. Is it just a bit of 'craic', a sniff of glamour, forty quid in your hand and then back to porridge, or will the effects be longer lasting? And how will they weather the storm that is brewing between the film-makers and the local community? As cultures clash, it’s clear that Tinseltown’s romanticised dream of Ireland is a long way from reality.
This raucous two-hander sees talented actors, Owen Sharpe and Kevin Trainor playing 15 characters between them, including extras, locals and the film's spolit leading lady Caroline. Comic timing and slapstick humour are rampant in this fast paced, Olivier award-winning piece.
