Rusalka Tickets

Overview

Inspired by Slavic myths and folklore, Rusalka is Czech composer Antonín Dvořák's best-loved opera exploring the themes of love, loss and betrayal. This new production is directed by Tatjana Gürbaca and conducted by Antony Hermus, both making their ENO debuts.

Beautiful water-nymph Rusalka has fallen in love with a handsome human Prince who visits her forest lake every day to bathe and hunt. In her desperation to become human and win his heart, she seeks out the witch Jezibaba and sacrifices her voice and her immortality for a special potion.

After a brief infatuation, the Prince rejects the mute Rusalka for a foreign Princess, dooming her to live in the depths of the lake forever. Once he realises his mistake, he visits the lake for the final time and both pay the ultimate price.

Access
There are 10 spaces for wheelchair users and transfer seating is also available. Wheelchair users must bring a non-wheelchair using companion.

A radio-wave system for the hearing impaired is installed in the auditorium. Infrared headsets can be collected from the foyer desk. Sign interpreted performances may also be available.

Guide dogs are allowed into the auditorium, alternatively staff are happy to dog sit in the manager's office.
