Specially created for English National Ballet in 1977 to celebrate the Queen’s Silver Jubilee, Rudolf Nureyev’s award-winning production of Romeo & Juliet has since been performed worldwide to critical acclaim.

Shakespeare's greatest love story is reimagined through Nureyev’s inventive choreography with sumptuous costumes and sets that transport you to the grandeur and bustle of Renaissance Verona. From the breathtaking sword-fights of the Capulets and Montagues to the spellbinding romance of the classic balcony scene, Nureyev's version blazes with passion.

Sergei Prokofiev’s exhilarating and memorable score played by the Orchestra of English National Ballet is the very heartbeat of this tragic tale of forbidden love and destiny.

Access
There are 10 spaces for wheelchair users and transfer seating is also available. Wheelchair users must bring a non-wheelchair using companion.

A radio-wave system for the hearing impaired is installed in the auditorium. Infrared headsets can be collected from the foyer desk. Sign interpreted performances may also be available.

Guide dogs are allowed into the auditorium, alternatively staff are happy to dog sit in the manager's office.
