Overview

After storming the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a successful run in the West End in 2008, ZooNation revamps its award-winning production of Into the Hoods for 2015. Under the direction of Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist Kate Prince, the hit show returns to the stage with new choreography, a remixed soundtrack and fresh designs. With a cast of nineteen adults and three children, the show features ZooNation's trademark narrative street dance style together with a smattering of wit and charm.

Set to a soundtrack of music by artists including Gorillaz, Massive Attack, Prince, Basement Jaxx, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Black Eyes Peas and The Chemical Brother, this energetic show puts an urban spin on Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s darkly humorous musical, Into The Woods.

The story follows two children who are lost in the hood after playing truant from school. An evil landlord befriends them, offering them a way out of the Ruff Endz Estate on the condition they work for him with the task of finding gifts for his daughter's birthday; an ipod as white as milk, a hoodie as red as blood, weave as yellow as corn and trainers as pure as gold.

Join the children as they reluctantly embark on their mission which leads them to the flats occupied by DJ Spinderella, wannabe singer Lil Red, vivacious rapper Rap-on-Zel, budding music producer Jaxx, drug-dealing pimp Giant, uber-confident lady magnet Prince and Wolf, manager of Big Teef Records.

Access
The Peacock is accessible for wheelchair users. There are seven spaces at the back of the Circle for wheelchair users and another two spaces at the back of the stalls.

The auditorium uses an infra red induction system. Headsets for audio described performances can be requested by speaking to a member of staff at the Ticket Office.

Guide dogs are allowed inside the auditorium and staff are available to dog sit if required.
