Overview
Adapted for the stage by Dean Pitchford and Walter Bobbie and produced by the award-winning team at Selladoor Productions, Footloose the musical returns to the capital remastered for 2017. Following a national tour in 2016, the show will be playing at the Peacock Theatre for a strictly limited three week run.
Based on the 1984 screen sensation starring Kevin Bacon which took the world by storm with its youthful spirit, dazzling dance and electrifying music, Footloose tells the story of city boy Ren McCormack who is forced to move from Boston to stay with relatives in a rural West Virginian backwater after his mother's death from leukaemia. As if things weren't bad enough, when he arrives in Bomont he discovers draconian laws imposed by the city council mean that unsupervised dancing and rock music are banned.
Despite furious opposition from the local Reverend Shaw Moore, all hell breaks out as Ren decides to cut loose and arrange a prom which soon has the whole town on its feet.
Featuring a dynamic cast including Pop Idol star Gareth Gates and Maureen Nolan, this fast-paced show is packed full of amazing dance routines choreographed by Matthew Cole and serves up some classic 80s hits, including Holding Out For A Hero, Almost Paradise, Let's Hear It For The Boy and of course the unforgettable title track, Footloose.

Access
The Peacock is accessible for wheelchair users. There are seven spaces at the back of the Circle for wheelchair users and another two spaces at the back of the stalls.
The auditorium uses an infra red induction system. Headsets for audio described performances can be requested by speaking to a member of staff at the Ticket Office.
Guide dogs are allowed inside the auditorium and staff are available to dog sit if required.
