Annie Tickets
Overview
Forty years after the original Broadway production opened in 1977, Nikolai Foster's spectacular new staging of Annie arrives in the capital starring actress and comedian Meera Syal as the odious Miss Hannigan.
Adapted from the daily American comic strip Little Orphan Annie created by Harold Gray, this is a heartwarming rags-to-riches tale of young Annie. Set in 1930s New York during The Great Depression, Annie escapes from her miserable life in a childrens home run by the cold and tyrannical Miss Agatha Hannigan and goes in her search of her real parents.
During her adventure, she meets friendly stray dog Sandy and billionaire Oliver Warbucks who wants to adopt Annie and bring her to live with him at his mansion. But orphanage owner Miss Hannigan has plans of her own and her interference threatens Annie's fairytale new life.
The much-loved score by Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin features classic songs including It's The Hard Knock Life, You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile, Easy Street and the unforgettable Tomorrow.
