Overview

Written by Olivier Award-winning playwright Katori Hall and directed by the internationally acclaimed Phyllida Lloyd, don’t miss Tina, The Tina Turner Musical at the Aldwych Theatre.

With a career that has spanned seven decades, Tina Turner is one of the world’s best-selling artists of all time. She has won 12 Grammy Awards, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991 and her live shows have been seen by millions, with more concert tickets sold than any other solo performer in music history.

Born Anna Mae Bullock in 1939 in Nutbush, Tennessee, the production charts Tina's amazing rise from humble beginnings, her tumultuous adulthood and turbulent marriage to Ike Turner through to her transformation into a global superstar. As undisputed Queen of rock ‘n’ roll, Tina Turner didn’t just break the rules, she rewrote them.

This jukebox musical reveals the untold story of a woman who dared to defy the bounds of her age, gender and race and features many of her much loved songs including What’s Love Got To Do With It, River Deep, Mountain High and Proud Mary.
