Overview

For the first time since 2014, Matthew Bourne and New Adventures return to Sadler's Wells for a limited season with their magical dance adaptation of the classic 1990 Tim Burton film, Edward Scissorhands. A Christmas treat for all the family, this touching and witty gothic fairytale features the hauntingly beautiful music of Danny Elfman and Terry Davies.

In a castle high on a hill lives Edward, an ageless boy created by an eccentric inventor who dies leaving him alone and unfinished with only scissors for hands. When a kindly neighbour takes pity on him and welcomes him into her home, Edward must find his place in a strange new suburban world where the well meaning community struggle to see past his strange appearance to the innocence and gentleness within.
